NAICOM sensitises joint taskforce on enforcement of compulsory insurances
The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) on Thursday organised sensitisation workshop for the joint taskforce committee members on enforcement of compulsory insurances in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as a pilot scheme.
The workshop is aimed at sensitising members of the taskforce on the requirements of the law with respect to the compulsory insurances as well as the enforcement modalities to be adopted by the taskforce committee.
The taskforce committee is comprising of the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Road Safety Corp, the Federal Fire Service, FCT Fire Service, VIO, the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
In his remarks, Deputy Director/Head, Corporate Communications and Market Development of the Commission, AbdulRasaaq Salami, said the enforcement exercise within the FCT is expected to begin in the next few weeks.
Specifically, NAICOM’s five compulsory insurances in Nigeria includes – Builders liability insurance; Statutory group life assurance; Healthcare professional indemnity insurance; Occupiers liability insurance; and Motor third party liability insurance.
